E-Readers

Whether its film scanners or electronic readers, it’s clear the push to digitize information is burgeoning. The battle for choosing the right e-reader is getting bloodier every passing day. According to a recent report by Forrester, the number of E-Readers sold in the United States will more than double every 2 years for the rest of the decade. On one hand, companies, both big and small are eyeing the space for Electronic Book Readers by introducing highly interactive Electronic-readers in the market. On the other, it is getting difficult for the consumers to choose what is right for them.
Forrester further predicts that Amazon.com’s Kindle will once again dominate the market as it has since 2009, accounting for 65% of the total market share followed by Sony E-Reader line.

Here is a brief summary of the most popular readers available in the market today,

A common trend noticed by Howtek.com readers is that despite the spurt in the demand, companies are focusing on making the E-Reader more interactive. Targeting them at business professionals in addition to those who use them for leisurely reading has helped sales. Business savvy people are replacing bulking laptop computers & cords with slim readers to enhance the face to face interactions.

Many new products in the market offer features like larger and sturdier black-and-white electronic-paper touch screens. E-paper screens reflect light, like regular paper, rather than back-lit like computer screens which are easier in long-form of reading, some other companies are trying to blur the gap between an e-reader and a computer by offering colorful screens which are capable of handling multiple functions. With more companies offering Sophisticated E-reader products the fight to the top spot is will be a tough one.
